Oil of Thyme linalol: Antiseptic


Thyme linalool or "sweet thyme" is one of chemotypes of Thymus vulgaris essential oil which is characterized by a high content of linalool (up 50%) and low in thymol (<3%).

Antiseptic, but less than the chemotype thymol, the essential oil of thyme linalool is not aggressive for the skin and mucous membranes.
Its use is preferred in children.

Indication

  • Part distilled: aerial parts (branching flowering)
  • Chemotype: linalool
  • Extraction: to water vapor
  • Origin: Spain

Use

  • In herbal tea: 1-2 drops of essential oil in a little honey, all diluted in warm infusion.
  • In your diet: a few drops and sometimes only one, subtly enough to flavor a salad, a dish of meat or fish, dessert.
